Who Are We? Babies' Best Start is a prenatal nutrition program offered to pregnant wornen and Moms with babies less than one year of age. Drop by and find friendly support and education in group and individual settings. Participants can receive milk and vegetable coupons as well as a vitamin supplement during pregnancy and until their baby is 6 months old.
Babies Best Start is sponsored by the YWCA Thompson and funded by Public Health Agency of Canada and Healthy Baby Manitoba. Home Visits A Home Support Worker will help you when you join Babies' Best Start. She has lots of breastfeeding experience, fetus pictures and models, information about healthy eating and knowledge of community resources. Classes are offered in a drop-in casual style for both pregnant women and moms with babies less than one year old. Prenatal ClassesA Public Health Nurse shares information about labour & delivery, fetus growth & development, breastfeeding, breathing techniques and baby care.

Postnatal /Breastfeeding Club Moms of babies under one year meet to learn more about breastfeeding, infant nutrition, and common baby concerns and to share their own experiences. Cooking Circles Have fun, meet other women and help prepare some delicious food in our cooking groups. We try new recipes, taste new foods and take home any leftovers. Cooking for 2 is a fun way to learn more about healthy eating from a Registered Dietitian.
Childcare and transportation are provided for group sessions. Partners and friends are very welcome.
