YWCA will be hosting an event called “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” to be held

Saturday, Sep 18^th @ 12:00 noon at the Y. 

Purpose: is to raise funds and awareness of Y programs that are offered to the community.
Men will collect pledges and walk a short distance in women’s high heel shoes.
The walk is based on the age old saying

“You can’t understand another person’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes”

The event premise is simple.
Men will walk a few blocks in women’s shoes, raising eyebrows and funds in support of the YWCA of Thompson. 

So Men of Thompson, are you ready to take up the High Heel Challenge?

 There are 2 ways you can join the walk

1.     Voluntarily register

2.     Get nominated by the Walk a Mile committee or any person in the community. 

Nomination, Registration and Pledge forms are available at the YWCA. 

Several men have already committed to participate, including the mayor.
